Welcome to the updated forums

Well this is a long time coming.

While I've only been testing the back end for the past 4-6 months. I've been wanting to update the back end forum software for a while.

We've moved from vBulletin to Xenforo 2.x. I've also updated the site to SSL via digicert so we're now fully https compliant. While I've turned the site on, I'm still in the process of cleaning up the front page and some other areas. The site should also work much better on mobile devices.

While I'm still tweaking and cleaning up. please if you find any issues with any part of the site post in this thread. If you can't post, drop me an email at rudedog@gmail.com. Please poke around and let me know if you find any issues.

Once the site is working fine, I'll be moving on to the back end software as well.

Looks good, back in black, Well done, RD (y)

Glad all the existing archive/db was transferred. I just went to Xenforo's site - hate that bright white you always seem to find on a CMS home site.

Thanks again all, as Pen can confirm. Been wanting to do this upgrade for a while but was too scared to actually hit the button(s). I must have tested and retested the upgrade process 6-10 times while documenting the process. After all said and done, I think the site was upgraded in about 3 hours from time of closing to reopening. Talk about nail biting...

While having time in the evenings here in the hotel. I'm working on the updated smilies. You would be surprised at the lack of any type of military type smilies. I found a cool set and been customizing them to replace our old ones. The not so easy side of this is it will take some time to upload and configure them. Also want to tweak this main theme before adding some lighter color ones for those who do not like dark themes.
