Trouble achieving multiple game type rotation

Hi. Thank you for reading this. I have been messing around with the config file, and no matter what I do the server starts with dm.

OK, I got it to work. Although when I start the server it skips first map (ponyri).

language.cfg error is normal for English version of the game that's Pure

basically means the game hasn't been localized to another language or had its voice-overs etc. modified


autoexec_mp.cfg is what runs if you start a windows server from ingame menu without specifying a config file or map rotation so that's normal too


the UO 1.51 patch added the ability for map/gametype-specific config files so every map you load using UO1.51b attempts to load a nonexistent map-instance-specific config. file following a standard hard-coded naming convention (unless you supply a config. file named "map_gametype.cfg")



just FYI your server was skipping its first map because you were issuing a map_rotate command AFTER specifying the maprotation ... using map_rotate in the command line starting your server tells it to expect a map rotation (instead of executing autoexec_mp.cfg) whereas issuing it in the config file before the map rotation would produce an error

however I've found from experience having a map_restart command @ the end of the config. helps from a practical standpoint though there's no technical reason I know of to do so

autoexec_mp.cfg is actually what the game expects to exec regardless (not dedicated.cfg as popularly believed) but can only include cvars not commands (unsure about punkbuster)

also I've since discovered that adding a map_restart command can be an issue from a logging and screenshot capturing standpoint on PB but is almost a necessity on heavily-modded non-PB servers, especially if being connected from around the world

my initial response about your map_rotate redundancy skipping first map issue, the normal language.cfg error and the map_gametype.cfg convention were completely accurate however
