Things I See That Need Fixed

I think the sniper issue is probably the main issue with game for people at the moment.

It maybe fun for a small minority but for the majority snipers are simply killing the gameplay aspect of multiplayer.

I would suggest that Kaos look into giving server admins the option to set the amount of snipers per side or remove them entirely.

I think they'll then see a whole swath of servers running without sniper class which will just go to prove how unpopular adding unchecked sniper classes into a game really are.

EA released MOH without any checks on snipers and to a certain degree CODBO did it and quite frankly they are always unbalanced, too easy to use and overpowered and there are no incentives for a sniper to play as part of a team when a game gives them such huge rewards for simply staying put.

They invariably kill gametype play especially on objective type modes and that kinda defeats the point of releasing games with any objective modes for MP.
In hindsight a public beta would have highlighted this very quickly..
Or possibly making the sniper class a harder class to use and takes a bit of learning to truly master it.

Im not enjoying the MP at all so far, the snipers are a real problem but overall there is something missing, not sure if its the super fast pace of the game, also missing bullet penetration so much.

Like in MOH there are a lot of bullet collision problems (when you aim at enemies with barrel next to a vehicle or object, clear LoS yet bullet collide with said object). The grenades are just a joke, ping pong ball with no damage or very little.

I see so many little glitch also, i think the game needs more work for sure. Last glitch I saw was the little drone on wheels, was going around floating at 1ft from ground....

The sky is crowed with all sorts of air vehicles/perks, not sure what they are but they kick my a*s all the time :/ - Another annoying thing are the round times, extremely short on various servers i went on, maybe its a server side option?

I'll put more time into it but would want to see a serious patch coming out soon or I dont see myself playing for long. I finished the SP last night in just over 4 hours, died a dozen time i think, very nice level design with the last hour very fast paced and great fun. Overall good SP but far too short

Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere - but Jason posted this on Thursday: :salute:

That's a bit of good news, I have not seen the sniper dominated servers, that just might be because I'm playing on UK servers and we have only just got the game. This said I guess that a little under half my deaths have been at the hands of snipers. But I treat them the same way in this game as others. "I don't care how many times I die, but I will stab you! You Blooming Sniper!!!!"

I am very disappointed in quite how crap the shotgun is and I got that for pre-ordering!!! Grrrr I love my shotgun, this one is rubbish!

I have noticed a marked difference in performance on some maps. That or over time it degrades. Not sure but when I started playing my FPS was running between 60 and 150 frames after a couple of hours it was chugging at around 30fps! Might be the map, might be the game mod or the server, whatever I was sort of hoping that this game would run a little better on my system.

Not sure this could be done (as I figure it would have to go across all classes), but think no prone for snipers would help. So sick of the bush wookies laying in da weeds...

I was actually fine with no prone in BFBC2 as well - but then again, *disclaimer*: I stink so bad with snipers - not sure I sure voice my opinion here - as I have to confess I hardly ever use them for that reason..lol

I can hit the side of a barn with them sumtin fierce though...:p

I think that with regards to snipers then altering the rewards would help as well.

I played several hours yesterday and found that snipers were regularly at the top of the scoreboard.
Even though they were not capping in objective games, the fact that they camped an objective (without ever trying to take it) meant huge scores in kills and it seemed huge rewards accordingly.

Meanwhile those players who were "playing the gametype" by trying to cap the objectives were being punished for actually doing so..The incentive is not big enough to play the gametype it would seem.

So I would suggest that particualrly in the Ground Control gametype that players who cap the objective get much bigger rewards than those who simply refuse to play the gametype by simply camping.
If the reward system does not benefit you playing as a sniper then less players will hopefully do it.

But then again I personally would prefer an option to either limit or completely remove the sniper class from the game as the class is totally unbalanced.
Snipers are rare and elite units but homefront (like MOH) has made them far to accessible and far, far too easy to use.

Im not a 100% sure but i think any class can have a sniper rifle selected as primary... in this case it would be the weapon that need limitation and not the class.

- Snipers - no bullet drop at all, and the second sniper rifle's scope makes it way too easy to pick people off even if they're hiding in grass/bush. Not enough recoil on the first semi-auto sniper.

- Grenades - WP grenades go a much shorter distance than frag (which as said earlier go too far and bounce like rubber balls)

- Aircraft - Should be limited to 1 chopper and/or airstrike per team at any one time.

- Passive repair (vehicle perk) - the passive repair appears to work way too quickly. I saw it on a scout and it was near impossible to shoot down because the damage done by proximity launcher was basically being repaired while you reloaded the launcher.
Possibly it's the time of no damage before it heals that also needs to be raised so they need to hide for a while then it starts repairing (slowly).

- Parachutes - only offered when you exit a chopper and not jumping from say a billboard. Doesn't always deploy on first hit of space bar. Once it does, another hit of space drops the chute without enough time to deploy again.

- BC - killstreak stars not only reward you with BP, but with perks making you even harder to kill. Ability to remove it awarding perks would be good.

- Anti-camper mod/mode - would be nice to see this added to either the game or in a mod. Have seen it in a COD4 mod. 30 sec of staying in one place and your weapons disappear until you move a certain distance (i.e. 5m)

- Change points system for GC so completing objectives rewards better than just killing enemy players. Reward increase per capture.

Sorry only had 2 or 3 points but they kept coming to mind :)

On the bullet drop - would guesstimate the Unreal Engine (Homefront) uses client side netcode (like Quake 3) and thus, no bullet drop. As much as I love BFBC2 - think the difference in it (bullet drop) is that each bullet is it's own calculated object in the engine (and thus subject to lag and etc) & why the hit regs are worse for some people (like me  ..lol) who are further away/have more stops to the servers/higher pings/etc.

Hit regs in Homefront are good for me (and in COD) & I'm quite a ways from most servers - so I'm just speculating here. Downside with client side netcoding is I believe is it's much easier to write hacks for it...

Not familiar enough with the Unreal Engine(s) - so maybe someone could correct me here if I'm wrong on this.

One more point:

When you're firing and jump, it should lower your gun and stop firing! Also shouldn't be able to just keep bouncing, it should have a recovery time like melee does.
Sometimes I feel like I'm playing against a team of kangaroos on crack!

100% agree with this..The dreaded Bunny Hopping..Its a simple fix..If a player jumps his gun is lowered and unable to fire..

Please get this one over to the team Kinsman as again it's making the game unenjoyable.

- Too many things on the ground that stop my movement. I'll be fine then all of a sudden I'm caught on something and can't move. Coincidentally when I absolutely need to move.

- Bullet penetration.

- Nade throw is funky. Getting used to it but it seems like less control than I'm used to.

- I'd leave the snipers alone myself. I'm not sure nerfing them was the answer. Players are still going to camp. The maps are good size IMO. Parrots are a good counter as well as just playing Battle Commander. In BC threats get treated as such. Snipers become a non issue for me. I do see many ppl just crawling on the ground in servers because of the snipers and there's also "no sniper" servers so I know some are tired of it... but sniper rifles are one shot kill weapons.

- Wish I could hit something when I wasn't aiming down the site.

- Bunny hopping needs fixing as mentioned.

- Would like to see a "recent" tab on the server browser and I'm not sure that the "slots available" filter is working. I see full servers either way. Checked or unchecked.

- Limit sprint
