For you guys that admin MOH servers let me be the first to tell you that PB does not stop all cheaters.

PB will only catch the cheats that the staff at evenbalance program into it, so a private hack that someone creates and never gives out or makes public will not be caught by PB.

One thing as a server admin that you can do is review your screenshots on a regular basis. I run several game servers including MOHAA, BFV, RTCW-ET, and CoD servers for my clan and have made the screenshot directories for all 3 PB enabled servers available to the public and encourage people to review ss often. I've actually caught 3 cheaters on CoD via ss and PB didn't pick up on their cheats.

If you'd like to check out our screenshots visit the links below:
Battlefield Vietnam: http://67.18.70.3
RTCW-Enemy Territory: http://67.18.70.4
Call of Duty: http://67.18.70.5

PB is not the "savior" but is a very powerful tool for us to use. I HIGHLY recommend PsB Master Ban List for anyone running a PB enabled game server. Right now there are over 1,200 bans for CoD on the ban list, and PB has only been around for CoD since, April?

there will never be a 100% cheat detection product. not as long as there are ppl who want to beat them.

nevertheless PB will be a welcome addition to moh in PA. It is much more than what we have now and will catch most of the cheaters not to mention deter a few in the process.

It will be one of my main reasons for upgrading when it is released.

Thanks for the great idea Brian!

Some of you may have noticed the link to punkbusted on the front to this site.

Once MOHPA goes live and punkbusted supports the MBL (master ban list) I encourage all system admins to look at what the punkbusted's MBL has to offer.

PB will be a most welcome addition. As Kampfer has stated, it is better than the out of the box anticheats we have now. It will also make for a unified A/C program being used that we can all add to evenb if it's just by emailing evenbalance on new thigns we come across. I know I see my fair share of emails warranted and not on hacks.

Just curious, is there a command to setup PB to take screenshots of members on the server? Do you manually post the SS to that IP, or is there some sort of system that will post them automatically? It would be great to implement into our BFV server.

There are several ways to do it via FTP commands. Punkbuster allows you to specify commands that are to be done after a screenshot is taken so anything is possible.

The easiest way, and the way I do it, is to setup a web site that points to the game's ss directory.

Punkbuster will automatically take ss of ALL players on the server if you set the command pb_sv_autoss 1

You can request ss manually via the pb_sv_getss command

I had a problem with Punkbuster on COD, it kept kicking me for having msvsres.dll which turned out to be a virus on my computer. Anyone else seen people kicked for this?
