Need Help Generating Server Log

I've been talking to people on this (and other forums) about gathering server stats. I've downloaded and configured the mohstats program and Php which it uses also.

I have generated "qconsole.log" on the server by entering "set logfile 1" in my server config. However, this command only logs non-player specific server activity in the qconsole.log file (for example, rcon from CI or map loading info), but not the kills, deaths, ect. which is what what I need to give mohstats to parse.

I also tried adding the following lines in the server config file:

seta dedicated 1
seta logfile 3
seta g_logsync 1
seta developer 2

I did get a lot more information in the qconsole.log, but still no kills/deaths. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I don't rent a server, my clan owns a dedicated PC as a server on a fast business connection running Windows 2000. I have full administrative access to it (using PCAnywhere) so I know for sure that edits to the config file were done and I downloaded the qconsole.log directly. I looked through the qconsole log very carefully in both instances and could not find player kills/deaths info.

Does the "set logfile" command HAVE to go in the server.cfg only for start up (and then I can execute my custom server cfg file, or can it go in whatever custom config file I have directly? I've read in some forums that I may need to add a bunch of commands to the server set-up short cut to generate the stats. I'm starting to second guess every damn thing I've done, and I'm confused as Hell because I seem to read a different way of doing this whenever I do a web search for the damn topic.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP?

I noticed 3VIL has stats running on their server and they post here a lot. Can one of the 3VIL guys (or anyone else out there) help me out?

Thanks,
R_W

set glogsync 1
set a sv_chatter 1
seta cheats 0
set cheats 0

Hey guys,

I'm running mohaa on a linux box with Foresight. I'm trying to activate and utilize logs. Below are my settings in my config, do they look correct? Problem I'm having is that I can not even find the qconsole.log file. It's not in the mohaa or main directory. Any thoughts?

//QConsole Log
seta logfile 3
seta g_log "qconsole.log"
set g_logstats 1
set g_logsync 1
set dedicated 1
set sv_chatter 1
set chat 1
set developer 1
seta cheats 0
set cheats 0

Thanks.

well, as I mention before, I found qconsole.log. It was in my linux account directory in a directory called .mohaa. I went in there and found it in another directory, called main.

This leads to another question. I'm running two different servers from this same Linux user account. they're completely seperate- each with their own directory, as one of them is a modded obj server and one is a regular tdm server. How come I only see one qconsole.log file?

Hmmm. Unless you use a different user account to run the second server, they may both be using the same path and file (overwriting or appending to each other - look at the log content to try and figure out what you are getting).

For the winblows version, you cannot set the actual log file name, it is always qconsole.log. You can try setting the g_log cvar to something else on one of the servers, but unless they fixed that in the Linux patch, you will still be stuck with "qconsole.log".
