Personally, i didnt think it looked any different from MW2 Special Ops missions where you waves of enemies... I think this time you can have up to 4 players though...anyways, a big MEH for me so far.

It looks dated and uninspiring.
Ya def agree. I feel the same thing with HOS too.
And the eye candy is what makes or breaks a game right? So if BF3 turns out to be a complete laggy mess that constantly crashes to the desktop it will be ok because the eye candy will make it fun right?

If that was true then BC2, MoH and Crysis 2 should have destroyed every game out there but both MoH and Crysis 2 are struggling to stay afloat these days for online player counts.

Sorry for the rant but BF fans sound like broken records these days saying other games are crap solely because they don't look as good as BF3.

SCREW activision and EA , they both are comprised of a bunch of pickpockets and liars. mw3 and bf3 will just be more of what blops and bc2 was and that tells me all I need to know about those two companies . TRIPWIRE better make this wait worth it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And therein lies the problem. We have inflateded expectations which might become silly putty in the hands of "the New Barrons Robbers"

Will HOS be better than BF3 or MW3? Who knows. I love eye candy and I love fluid gameplay, let's hope that of these 3 games something good will emerge.

This community is more of a special PC Focus community. Most of the pc gamers just want to have fun. Jump in do some shooting and go back to the daily grind.

The FPSgenre seems to be tapping in the "escapist" feeling people need in times of financial and family stresses we are all undergoing these past few years.

As to the philosophy of building the best FPS they don't really give a toss. "Hey big studios you have license to now plunder my purse for sub standard games." Just need to kill time, really!

Eye candy isn't everything but it is an integral part of gaming. Anyone who says other wise is kidding themselves. Does a game with high graphics mean it will be a success? No because there are obviously other components that contribute as well. Too completely rule it out is stupid. Even Tripwire are going to be implementing better graphics in RO2 and that game is supposed to be, from what I have been hearing, a great game. Should they just say sod it and not bother?

BC2 did well and brought something new into the franchise in destruction. This did something refreshing to the game play and made you more aware of your surroundings. Gone are the days when you can hide behind a wall to protect yourself. With BF3 they have turned that up a notch and again it looks impressive and bloody fun environment to play in.

As for MoH and Crysis 2. MoH wasn't a bad game it just wasn't planned right to begin with. It was a rushed project with what looks like not enough research into what made the game popular in the first place. To me EA wanted a game out before the next CoD (Black Ops) to generate a bit cash. So they split the game in two and dumped it on DICE and Dangerhouse (think thats there name?).

I am not saying MW3 looks crap for the hell of it. Look at the footage. Are you seriously telling me that comparing what we have seen in MW3 and BF3, that MW3 looks a better or more exciting game to play? I am not solely talking about graphics wise but the action that has been displayed in the games?

Rant all you want Maydax but my comment is in reference to what has been shown in MW3 and it is what it is. Uninspiring and dated.

Ofc it looks like crap. It's the Xbox360 version while most BF3 footage is from PC. The PC version of MW3 will most likely not be a whole lot better but it will be better looking than the Xbox360.

I'm not defending MW3 nor am I saying it looks good visually but most of the BF3 vs MW3 arguments are solely based on eye candy and some on destruction. Lets see if the hit registration is better or if the server lag issues are solved. Lot of factors that make or break a game and I look at them all.

If MW3 turns out to be the same shit as MW2 I will definitely voice my opinion against it but I'm not judging anything until I see the final product. That applies to both BF3 and MW3. Both have sub par PC releases and I am giving both the chance to redeem themselves.

I have my iPod touch to entertain me in the meantime.

It's not just that, it's just that graphics, sound, and destruction are the most obvious reasons, and anyone can agree they're valid reasons, but not all. We can bitch and moan about BC2's shortcomings, some things got fixed and some didn't, but for a game that didn't sell anywhere close to either Blops or MW2, it sure is giving them competition on active player counts, so DICE must be doing something right aside from eyecandy. I think the harsh criticism towards MW3 and Activision it's not just about the game looking like a dated, reskinned version of previous titles (which it does) but because of their attitude towards the PC community, so it's a combination of both, and you don't only see that here on this website, but on twitter, and every gaming site out there, at this point I'm more surprised in PC players defending this franchise than anything else.

As I said my comment was in regards to what was shown of MW3. Forgive me if my comments about BF3 are more positive because I am seeing something that is looking to be a lot of fun. In regards to console footage, we have seen small snippets of BF3 and it still looks good. We should see more this week.

I do agree with you that hit registration, lag issues amongst other things need to be addressed in BF3 or there will be a lot of questions being asked of DICE as to why they have not mastered these areas yet. I was trying to gauge if the hit reg was any better in the MP footage from E3 but couldn't tell for sure. Anyway back to the topic.

Guess it's just BF3 for me this year. :D
I don't agree with you in regards to HOS. I am willing to give the game a chance as it is something different and some of the game modes I have heard of interest me. The guys from Tripwire have already said they will have better textures etc for the final release so we may see a marked improvement.

Fair enough. I didn't like the first one and from what I have seen, I am just not impressed yet. I will need to play a demo or beta before I think about buying it.
