i miss the days when players played just because they enjoyed playing ...

now we got levels, ranks, unlocks, perks, kill streaks, ect.

i would love to see a cod1/2 remake .. without all the bells and whistles of todays shooters
Those days are long gone and never coming back sadly. It's to the point there they have run out of weapons to lock so now they other smaller things like weapon attachment, vehicle options, perks / specializations.

It's a major annoyance in BF3 which has 17 or 19 optic attachments alone and when you get them all for one weapon you have to do it all over again for every weapon you use. Feels like I'm digging the same hole over and over and it's not fun anymore. Just give me the $10 unlock all option and be done with it.

CoD does that too but thank god for rank editors in previous games to bypass all that crap.

I'm serious. Why waste many hours chasing unlocks if I can pay a small fee and get them all now so I can enjoy the game more. That would be the only DLC I would buy (Providing it's $10 or less)

I told that directly to DICE weeks ago :)
As some unlock give clear advantages, this would be paying for power upgrade and that wouldnt go down well. I think it was you you said before that paying for skins and other cosmetic things was fine but not better weapons / unlocks.

With that said, MW3 might very well have this option - on unranked at least.

But it's ok for the kid with no life who plays many hours a day to have an advantage over the person who has to work and has little time to play games? Or what about the players who start playing 6 months down the road, same issue.

May as well say it's ok to cheat while we are at it too.

Yes I did but in Crysis 2 for example you can't get DLC weapons without paying. The paid option I'm suggesting for BF3 and others is still achievable by playing the game for free. It just takes longer.

It's been done by DICE for BC2 and MoH already for consoles. The shortcut packs.

That would be the way all game with unlocks normally ... yeah. - i personally never need those unlock and stick to relatively Stock kits as I dont care about Leader-boards nor k/d ratio!!! I play for the fun of it :p

Didnt know, i suppose though these were released at 6 months after the game release?

I'll already have to pay $59.99 plus Tax for the game and then have to pay an additional $10 to get my unlocks. Screw that.

I understand what you are saying but paying over $80 for a game is ridiculous.

Two sided coin I guess.
I hate having to try and compete with someone who has no life and spends many, many hours a day and is fully unlocked against my few minutes here and there basically stock player.
I might be able to outplay these guys but they have an unfair advantage.

Especially if you can just buy your way into it. Kiddie gets mommy to pay for full unlocks and guys like me can't compete.

To echo what was said earlier, I don't care about k/d ratio. I play for fun. But it's not much fun getting your ass handed to you not because of lack of playing skill, but because of unlocks...

Do they have the option to have fully unlocked servers where guys who don't have the time/money for unlocks can go and play on a level playing field? That would seem fair.
