This was the first game host I had back in the cod2 days. I have used them more recently for cod4, cod2, l4D, and the service was always top notch. Just a good group of guys imo. From email...

Dear FPSGS Clients,

We have come to a decision to close down FPSGS for a few months due to financial difficulties in the last year. Several factors contributed to this hosting break that we will be taking: The economy of online consumers, IWNet and non-dedicated MW2 support, and other decisions to name a few.

We have been hosting servers for years, but in the last year have moved our clients from company to company with downsizes and more. The last thing we want to do is make a move that will disturb our clients experience with us. We like to say we have good support - but when it comes to stability - we are lacking.

To improve our service for our customers and as staff supporting our clients, we are going to close to take a few steps back. We want to get ahead of the game and re-structure how our business is run and the services we offer. Look for us to come back online in the near future.
It's a shame...I hope they recover.

The guys we rent from are not happy. The MW:2 was a kick in the balls and now BC2 will only be using "selected" GSP's.

The small independents are really suffering right now.

That's not totally true.

I started Hosted Game Servers (http://www.hostedgameservers.com) a little more than 6 months ago and we're growing just fine.

I think it's all in Google rank, performance, efficient staff and the right leased hardware.

If you try to undertake your own colocation you're just taking on too much work and increasing your customers downtime during outages.

I see your big clanservers.com banner up there, but if you're interested, I run a little bit better of a referral system myself! Anyway, I just wanted to stop in, drop a link and let you guys know that not all GSPs are dying.

Nice integrii...total class...like a loud fart at a funeral. I'm sure everyone will flock to your service.

I feel bad for the guys that put money up to get ready for MW2...only to get the rug pulled out from under them. I'm sure it is more than this host.

Indeed it has hit us hard but we have found that our pricing structure that we had set out to tackle the mw2 market have paid dividend in getting us through these tough times we are not out of the water yet but are holding our own.

sad to hear that some companies are being forced to close although i have just visited their page and i think they are being a tad optimistic

"We apologize for this inconvenience. We will return bigger and better on the release of BC2, March 2nd, 2010" if what we hear is true unless your ranked then your out in the cold.

Prolly not.
Even though you took the time with your very first post to promote yourself in this topic , I will refrain from yelling DOUCHEBAG and instead wish you all the best in your endeavors.

Cause I'm a nice guy. :)
