Hello All,

About 10 years ago or so, I organized and ran a LAN party called Geek Fest where we all played COD:UO with the AWE mod. I had a dedicated server, RCON, a content (maps and mods) server, and I had a ServerStats server set up that parsed the log file every 5 minutes. I even ordered trophies and medals to give out to all of the award winners. We did three Geek Fests. It was awesome, we had about 40 players, people loved it, and I had a great time setting it all up -- we ordered pizza, drank beer and stayed up until 4 in the morning. :)

Since that time I've had my friends bugging me to do another one so we can introduce more of our friends and now our kids (a whole new generation) to old school FPS LAN party gaming. So I agreed to do another Geek Fest, but it's been a long time and things have changed in the last 10 years -- I need some help to get pointed in the right direction.

1. First and foremost, I'm hoping you guys can tell me which Log File Parser I should go with. I used ServerStats last time, but I see that's changed to Stativore, but the website is dead and I don't know what the latest version is, if it's stable, and where I can download it and get help in setting it up. Or is there something better that everyone is using these days? I'd appreciate your help.

2. What about the AWE mod? What's the latest version and where can I download it?

3. Would anyone be willing to share a good cfg file that uses the awe mod and an http redirect content server?

Thank you in advance for your help -- much appreciated.

Respectfully,

Mark

Mark,

Geek fest sounds like a blast. I just set up a UO server in the past week for our team. We mostly got started on UO and just wanted to have the option to play again when we wanted. With all the new games out, sometime it is fun to play the oldie but goodies.

I just saw this post, so I will have to do some research for you. I too ran server stats back in the day, and I think I may still have the files buried on my computer. I will dig around for them and let you know if I have a working set of files. It may not be the latest, but atleast they will work. If I can find them, I'll get them up on a site you can grab them from. I am heading away for a few days, but can look into this Monday.

As far as the awemod goes, I am using version AWE 2.1. I would get it from here: http://callofduty.filefront.com/file/UO_AWE;42425. In my server hosting they installed if for me, but there are great instructions for installing this in the readme files.

Once you get it in, I can send a copy of our config file with the setting we prefer to play with. Also, if you are just doing local LAN parties and not running a server full time, I may be will to help you out on the redirect side if there is not a ton of bandwidth usage. I host the download redirect through our website for our server, and it seems to work pretty good. If you are interested you can send me a PM on this forum and then I'll send you my email to work out the details.

Hope this helps. I'll let you know about the stats when I find it.

I'm going to preface this by saying I never deal with client-side mods for both technical and 'moral' reasons

that said I've multiple server-sided-only mods together often and am quite skilled and current with UO & classic config files for cod and will gladly help in any way that I can! I don't come here often anymore but feel free to email, facebook me or post here for my assitance

P.S; "Geek Fest" is the best idea I've heard in ages - good job passing it along!
