It's the best way to combat the snipers. When there's too many snipers (more often than not on a full 32 player server), I find a safe spot and launch the parrot.

At the end of the map I'm often in the top 5 on my team with little or no kills. If you are persistant and keep it out of the open, you can rack up lots of BP quickly, without firing a shot :)

The problem I find is that I can see the bad guys, heck their name's appear in red but I don't get the option to tag them all. I'll be looking at one and he refuses to tag but some other guy get the diamond for me the then target and tag with the bright red tag everyone can see. It frustrating cos I can see loads of the buggers but only get to tag a couple of em...

The only thing I can think of is that you're too far away from them.

Unless the ghost perk stops them from being spotted ?!?!

Distance and cover affects the spotting. If they are even slightly behind a wall , you may need to reposition the drone to spot them properly even if you can see them.

Also Ghost perk only keeps you safe from personal UAV sweeps afaik.

Instead of creating a new thread, I guess this could go here..

I have found a great way to use drones!
Especially useful in Ground control!

After taking control of a point, get a drone up and out of view, spot incoming targets. You now have a legal wallhack!

Then hit the drone key again to switch back to infantry view and kill the targets you just spotted as you can clearly see which way they are coming from.
Now switch back to your drone view in the sky to spot more targets.
Rinse repeat.

This could become a popular method of play. The solution is to shoot the drones ofc.

Starting using them as well (for those pesky camping snipers mostly) and find they're very helpful to the team & good for points - especially for a map like Angel Island. They're pretty easy to maneuver and easy to hide - so you can sail along the side of a building undercover and low enough not to get picked off.

I've also found that trees are not that solid of objects in HF - so sometimes put the drone right inside at the edge of it (so you can see out..) and pick players off.

EDIT: Nice HF Drones tutorial/tips Video IMO:

I got a loadout just for when I want to use the parrot. Don't forget the drone abilities "drone be gone", "my buddy", and "crater to order". Nothing better than marking the snipers, flying low at high speed in then flying right up against some camper who knifes the drone into a sweet explosive death.

I'm getting better at swapping back and forth between player and drone. Park the drone in some tree and you're still able to see the white diamonds for marking targets even if you can't see the actual player. Swap to your guy and take out a few... then mark a few more.
