The new Delator is ready. However, I haven't had the time to test it properly (I was coding it until this very moment), so it's nothing but an alpha version. I know a lot of people was waiting for this, so I decided to make it public before going out for holidays.

CHECK THE HELP FILE!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stress that enough. Every new feature is marked with red text. The current help file lacks a lot of images and the like, but still every feature is named.

Don't get rid of your previous install. Do a backup copy, cause more than probably you'll need it.

Upgrading instructions: A clean install is recommended because of the many new features, but you should be able to retrieve your existing config. For this, unpack the zip contents and move the following files to the old folder: delator.data, rcondelator.exe, moddelator.exe, names.txt, variables.txt, vbzip10.dll and vbuzip10.dll, overwriting the existing files when prompted (remember, you did a backup copy, did u??).

New features:

  • A bunch of fixes (but don't worry, you'll get some new bugs :p ).

    Delator now supports different profiles, so that you can use it to monitor different servers or one server with multiple configs (not simultaneously!)

    Added a task scheduler which allows to run either external apps/rcon commands at any time of the day.

    Added support for banned names list.

    Added support in moddelator for client commands (force weapon, team, suicide, everything serverside). Also you can do those things that responsible admins will never do (i.e.: send any other command to the player console via stufftext).

    The patrol interval can now be set as low as 10 seconds.

    Server overhead greatly reduced.

    Clientban is now immediate. Also, you can ban net subrank and rank directly from console without leaving the game.

    Detection for every IBot version out there (including ver.1.0.3)

    MiniConsole now supports the getinfo command (it's broken, but just in case...)

    Scan intervals can now be set from console.

    Support for IP list (when you want to trace some IP on your server but not to ban it).

    Add IP to the banlist from within Delator.

    Non optimized connection message is now only casted once per player per session, and the message is not dumped to the logfile (I hope it makes it more useful).

    Ping kicks are not logged either.

    Optionally, you can choose to make a backup copy of the activity file everytime a cheat is detected, so that you can check what exactly was detected by Delator and why it kicked the player.

    Landshark fix for any map (including those that don't exist yet)

    New dumpuser button.

    Enhanced modified binaries detection.

    TEAMKILLER AUTO-DETECTION AND BANNING ON ANY SERVER, WITHOUT THE NEED TO RUN ANY ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE ON IT OTHER THAN MODDELATOR ITSELF. It's not 100% accurate, but maybe 85/90%, but hey, that's much more than we have right now. Also, it's highly configurable, not just the typical "if score<-3 then kick him!"[/list:u]

I did a backup of my current 2.1 so I followed the instructions after extracting the 3.0 I copied over the selected files listed and overwritten the old ones well I can start up the modelator but soon as I click on build mod I get and error and the rcondelator wont even start up I get an runtime error 429..hmmm see if I can work around it Ill try it on another pc

which is the moddelator error? I really don't know about the other one, never heard of 429... Also, you should try a clean install, maybe I missed something on the upgrading process.

EDIT: Just tried a fresh install on a different machine (w2000, the previous one was XP) and it works fine, so maybe you should try that.

yeah its wierd i get the same error for the moddeltor as well,, well I did a fresh install of both 2.1 and then 3.0 and the same thing,, I had this problem before on my sytem its XP just like my other PC but 3.0 is working fine on my other PC I have it running now, dont know why its not working on mine they both are the same OS, before when I had 2.0 and I upgraded to 2.1 I had these similar errors where I couldnt start up rcondelator or expot a generated mod then I realized I had to had version 2.0 folder also installed then it worked but I dont know what it could be I have 2.0,2.1 and 3.0 installed all in there own seprate folders, did the overwrite of files like you said and I cant run the rcondelator, the moddelator is fine if it doesnt generate I can generate the mod somewhere else but Id like to get my rcondelator running on this pc instead of my other...hmmm

Just something I forgot about...

When you're using the TKer auto-detection you may note that under certain circumstances the screen zooms in and out violently for a short amount of time. This is very annoying, but won't harm your server nor clients. I will fix it asap, but right now I just don't have the time to do it.

I think I may have found the issue with the run-time error 429, I think I have some other registered dll's with another program that may be conflicting with delator, need to find out what controls delator is using

Only the zipping dlls (that makes sense for modDelator) or windows common controls (since RconDelator doesn't use the zip dll's at all)

When i run delator 3.0 on my server we can't bash with our main weapons. The bash still works with pistols.

Hey YoChoy the mike_torso.st does that have to do with any of the serverside cvars? anyway the modified one included within the generated modis causing the inability to bash in spearhead server, do not know what is changed from the origianl but Im sure you do..heh -I just checked it.

Well the state ATTACK_"weapon"_SECONDARY for all the rest of the weapons other than pistol is missing from the file

yes you can, the changes of that file needs to be applied on the spearhead version of mike_torso and not the allied assault version I just did that it works, BUT lets wait for YoChoy to comment on this so we know for sure if thats the case

still can't

Delator still won't work with the map string vstr evertime I run deltor the map list freezes and the server plays the same map over and over does anyone know the prob and how to fix this? CI is the only program I can get to work with the map string. Also I like the way the msg go on the screen now really nice

how accurate is the tk code? I wrote something similar to handle tking tanks, but i couldnt figure out how to handle it for player by player.

i see you are doing it via a script, is it handled by setting the boudning box of a trigger multiple around the player to

setsize -16 -16 16 16

and when the script fires its deleted, but how do you handle when a player leaves the server and the player goes NULL, IE, you have a wandering trigger_multiple hanging around, how do you detect it to delete it.

IE the problem i found, and i didnt spend time writing a method I KNOW would fix it (IE keeping track in a loop of all created triggers then deleting them if htey no longer had a player attatched), is that the trigger tends to sit around in space for a long time without going away, how do you handle 20 miunutes of people going on and off server? Or does it just leave them in the air so they can be shot....

I didnt want to leave any way for a memory leak to occur with spawned triggers, i solved it with the tank simply by having the trigger get deleted whenever the tank got deleted, and since the tank never "leaves" the server, unless specifically removed by the server, that method worked fine for me....

Yep, I can confirm. It will turn off bashing for all weapons except pistols in Spearhead. I almost, but not quite, totally dislike it. The other stuff runs fine. I did have someone kicked for a binaries hack which I don't think is right. I know the person and they would have NO CLUE as to how to hack a binary or even install a cheat. I'll have to watch that.

well I think he done left town already, so I wouldnt expect any quick updates on the 3.0 but remember its still alph version so there will be bugs, and the VSTR thing I dont know if that was too much of an issue for it to be compatibale with delator altho it would be real nice

well if you all wanna a QUICK-FIX for it to work with spearhead what you can do is after you have generated the mod the zzzzzz.delator.pk3,, open it up and delete the mike_torso.st file from it Im looking at and I think the reason why it was included might have to do with the landsharking fix but im not to sure other than that all it is is full body animations, torso animations. But keep it for regualr alliedassault but for spearhead its missing everything for it.

I've just downloaded Delator for when EC get our server (in a few days time). And i've just been looking over it seeing what it has, and i must say its very user friendly and easy to use. It will definately make my job at administrating a server easier. My compliments go out to the designers of this tool.
