Truth is, not everyone who bought the game feels cheated or has issues or is an ar*ehole because because he bought it. Narrow minded comes to mind :X - I know for some its hard to realize but yes, some clans/communities/players are having fun with BlackOps!

As for the modtools, "all good things come to those who wait", what does it matter that the numbers will be low on unranked? Im still modding/mapping for WAW, a fraction of the player base is left, still some clans enjoy the mods/maps, thats good enough for me!

I'm prepared to give my all - my commitment - to the first studio that makes a game which gives me as much fun as I have had with COD. I don't particularly care if it's an indie or mainstream developer. As long as it gives me what I look for in a game, I'm there. And if it has mod tools as well, all the better.

Homefront is my game of choice at the moment. Could it finally be the game I've been looking for since 2007 when I saw the writing on the wall for COD? I do hope so.

Yep I agree here.
I knew what I was getting with Black Ops..Well mostly..lol..I was still disappointed but I did not feel cheated as the choice to buy was mine and as I said I was mostly aware of what was in the game.

The truth is I was not expecting the game to have as many issues as it actually did have, performance wise and gameplay wise.
Having not played MW2 the huge amount of perks, weapons and just plain bling came as a surprise and I personally thought it was too much of a distraction from the actual gameplay which to be quite frank has not basically changed since COD4 now.

For me thats when the COD series changed fundamentality from a team based game into an individuals game with the addition of ranks and the concept of Me , Myself and I, which largely replaced team play especially on public servers.

Anyway everything has a time and a place and for me and my Clan mates, COD has now moved into the past tense and will be fondly remembered as something which we enjoyed greatly.
But now we simply don't, so for us its time to move on..

I too was dissapointed here. Not because i experienced any of these (game has been fine for me since release beside the menus freezing at times) but fact is Treyarch boosted they had a huge PC team working on this and testing it prior to release... still i think the lack of closed/public beta did the damage here. There were a lot of new features (mostly to do with Steamworks/game optimization) that Treyarch obviously anticipated to be fine and it clearly wasnt/still isnt the case for many. A real shame as this is pushing the Modtools release even further....

I agree 100% with your first paragraph. :salute:

I'm hoping I can agree with your last but I have not had a chance to play anything let alone touch the PC. Hopefully after I return from this business trip, I'll get a chance to purchase and play Homefront. I'm really looking forward to trying it out.

Homefront is shaping up well Jim, needs patching and more option in menus to optimize without having to through INI files but one thing is sure at this point: its not DOA as MOH was.

Well,

I don't want fan any flames on the previous flame wars on this thread, but some news did pop up today.

PC fans: I just spoke with @pcdev, and it looks like Mod Tools are still targeting an end-of-month release. Stay tuned for more details.

Thats not news :) -- PCDev already said released in May ;)

The problem a lot of us have is the lack of details as to the actual content of the Tools, but i guess we'll know sooner rather than later! Thanks

Hey guys,

We have begun updating wiki.treyarch.com with details on the Mod Tools BETA, which will be releasing Tuesday, May 31st on Steam.

I wanted to highlight here some of the things included in the package:

•• Launcher.
•• Asset Manager.
•• EffectsEd.
•• AssetViewer.
•• Maya 2009 Exporter Plugins.
•• Reference materials: Maya src files, scripts, example mods, xmodel exports, texture assets.

The PC team is still investigating the potential release of Radiant. I'll be sure to update you when I know more.

Regards,
