Nice vid and thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, my interest in CoD really waned after Black Ops, for various reasons. Haven't really played it since March.

I love the concept of Barebones, and like you said, it's too bad there aren't more servers out there running it. That was a big frustration for me, there was no reason Treyarch couldn't add a damn server filter for Barebones, just like Hardcore. Why this omission I'll never understand, much like Old School mode for CoD4, much forgotten.

If I wanted to play on a Barebones server, I had to look for them in the server list, though I did mark some as favorites when I remembered to.

I also remember a few times when playing in a such a server, people would come in and start whining about their perks, attachments, etc., "Where is my stuff?". That always cracked me up, but it also hit home how much CoD had changed and not for the better, IMO.

Now we can't even get mapping tools from Treyarch anymore, or simple filters for playing CoD how it used to be. I liked WaW after Treyarch patched it up, so I had some excitement leading up to Black Ops. But BO really disappointed me, from one GSP, to bad performance (on my machine), to continuing CoD's new legacy of cheap kills (IMO), and maps that didn't interest me for some reason. Which is strange, because I watched all the leaked videos of the maps before release and thought the maps were going to be GREAT, but they didn't play that way for me. Even adding more to the confusion, I HATED CoD4's maps but enjoyed the maps for WaW & MW2, so I expected the same for BO.

It's foreign to me but for the first time ever I am not excited for the next CoD. It has always been a Day-One purchase for me since the original, but I'm not even interested this time around. I guess I'll be listening to what other PC gamers say about MW3, reviews, and other things just to keep current, but unless MW3 has CoD4 / WaW-type dedicated servers, I'm not going to consider buying it.

Thanks for the feedback. And good news, they announced COD4 style dedicated servers for MW3. :)

So I take it barebones setups must be done in an UNRANKED server?

Nope! You can run a barebones gameplay in a ranked server! You just can't get points/kills towards perks!
