While I will say I enjoyed the game on the first day or so, this game is basically teets up in the water. How KAOS didnt know or understand the cheats, sniper issues is beyond me. I honestly thought this game was a good game. For them to talk about DLC is almost comical. The game needs so much fixed for it to even have a gasp of air left to survive. You can only play it for about 5 minutes before everyone snipes or the hackers run everyone out. Chalk it up as a learning experience I guess.

On to the next one that comes out. Hopefully someone out there can make a game that lasts more than a month..:undecided

Snipers are just a terrible idea to have in objective gametypes. They may sound cool, they may look cool but they are just aweful to have in an objective based gametype because they simply do not encourage players to play the gametype.

Instead they sit and camp and rack up huge rewards for basically taking no active part in the gametype as well as bringing huge frustration to those who to play the game as it was intended.
You go into any Homefront server and well over half the players are using the sniper class.
Hiding on roofs and hilltops, getting one shot kills from their far too overpowered guns.
I don't have to much of a problem with the constant camping ethos in TDM gametypes but its definately not enjoyable in objective gametypes.

By constantly killing players who are trying to cap an objective, whilst themselves never ever trying to cap anything they are driving players away and Kaos or DE need to step in and either limit the class and its weapons or allow admins to do it themslves on their own servers.
All that is happening now is those who enjoy the objective gametypes are getting hugely frustrated and leaving the game and in many cases never coming back.

Afterall who needs to be to have their arsed kicked simply for trying to play the gametype by some jerk using a weapon that requires no skill to use?.
Was trying to figure how to post my frustration the other day with snipers - but you put it perfectly IMO, so I'll just use yours....:p

Euh... not really! Kaos Studios already done that with the disastrous Frontlines: Fuel of War. It was a shambles online, took ages for dedi server files to come out and modtools promised never materialised... That would have been the training grounds i would have tought

Where are the Devs who use to post here? Kinsman? Anyone out there?? I wont mention KAOS_CHEFS who is as active with the community as a bear in hibernation....

Unless he is rudely insulting people asking legit questions...

I think the lesson to be learned here is that the game market is changing yet again. It appears that the window for developers to get the game(s) fixed is much shorter than in past years. Or at least for small developers. It's been a little over two weeks and it's almost dead. With past AAA title FPS games, they've had a much longer window to get patches out. I'm not sure the plan of having day 1 patches is going to be acceptable from now on unless the day 1 patch fixes nearly all the issues. This day 1 patch clearly did not.

The usefulness of having done a large scale beta would have certainly helped out here so the day 1 patch could have done everything that this day 16 ( 20? ... whatever it ends up) patch is attempting to fix. Mod tools and dedicated server files to go along with that from day 1 (on a fixed game) would have also not only sold more games for them, but would have ensured that by day 16, the community would have had time to make an attempt to help fix this game as well as the devs...

They are starting to get a reputation of a bunch of smoke blowers.

Sad really.

Oh well, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Unless they make a quick turn around good luck on their future sales.
They were like that with Frontlines. I was actually one of the people pushing KAOS to produce mod tools for Frontlines, and they were full of hot air. No tools ever materialized. I highly doubt they will for this game either.

It seems to me that if a title doesn't do as well as they supposed, or if it's reception isn't all that it should or could have been, these developers just go "oh well, on with the next title. Better luck next time", and just move on.

considering the news that the studio just layed off a bunch of people I doubt we will see mod tools either. Time will tell, but I would assume this affected the support already with the delay in the PC patch. Hey, at least we have mod tools for COD: Black Ops.... been waiting for that news. :)

Zeroy mentioned it earlier, but it is funny how when the talk gets to be on the negative side of things how the people from the dev / studio have nothing at all to say on the subject matter.

Although I do have to say I think Kinsman has shared quite a bit of information/feedback in here all through the process & have appreciated him doing so.

Am a bit bewildered why a forum would ever ban one of the PBBans guys though - as they're the good guys with the white hats IMO :salute:

Jason from Digital Extremes has also been posting in the Steam forums & most recently on the snipermania thread in there.

I think they must be having problems..I know the new server files are with the GSP's but they have been told not to release them until THQ approve the release.

I would hazard a guess that the patch is in a similar state of "On Hold"

But none the less if they are not releasing the patch this week, which to be honest is looking very likely, then telling your community is a much better option than allowing fuel to be added to fire.

A simple "Sorry guys, technical hitches have delayed our intended patch and server release" would go a long way towards calming everyone down.

This is when community managers should really step in to dampen down those sparks before they become infernos..

Ban has been removed. Was a mistake. Nice to know people high up in THQ.

Something else is coming of it too but I can't say anything yet :)

There is only about 12 players in Australia now because all the high ping players were just to many for admins to kick, and the players from over seas with over 300ms had so much lag they could not be shot dead, so all the locals stopped playing

So I guess they are not going to support the game anymore. No Hardcore Mode! No Mods! I guess they are only interested in the Xbox genre & not PC. Very sad that with all the technology we have they can not support the PC community with the requested changes by the community.
