Not sure that update = patch. Isn't Chefs the community manager? I don't think he works on patches.

I think the update will be an announcement.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong about his position at KAOS.

As I expected, there was an announcement.

Here is a comprehensive list of fixes and plans for the PC version of Homefront.

PC: The PC patching process is a much more “real-time” situation, given they do not need to go through any kind of certification process and fixes are being made and delivered as soon as they are resolved.
yeah, that is all of it.

You can read the rest if you like though its mainly about consoles.

Fresh from the horses mouth on twitter:

@KAOS_CHEFS @DJN00B I'll have a PC update later this week - patches will come quicker on that platform since we don't need to go through Certification.

I hope by update he means a patch. Or else it's just keeping us in limbo sweet talking which he learned from JD.
Yes, i was very disapointed to see that the "update" was in fact just to say "PC patching will be quick as we dont need Certifications". Thanks but I knew that already! No bug list, patch plans... nothing. Their Official Forums as well as this one is full of bug reports already yet Kaos has none up yet.

Little confusion on terms here I think, sure PC does not require the same "Certification" that Consoles do, so what Chefs said is actually correct.

They DO however need to be QA tested before release into the wild, which is exactly where the largish PC Patch, and new Dedicated Server is right now.

Expect to see them both coincide sometime next week. :)

BTW, this is the patch, and it will be out tomorrow, or the day after depending on how testing goes.

Thanks for the continued updates Kinsman. Really appreciate all your work.

One thing about the patch notes that is worrying me:

- Diablo damage adjusted
I truly hope they don't mean nerf it down. The Diablo is my weapon of choice on smaller maps like Cul-de-Sac, and if they nerfed it down, I would be very disappointed.

Have to say firstly the game has always run OK for me - but after the patch, seems to run a lil smoother, look a lil better, and get ~20 more average FPS out of it - so nice work on the patch guys (at least for me). :salute:

Specs btw: Quad 9300/Vista 64 w8G ram/5770 with 10.12 drivers

Hopefully will increase the player counts & keep the snipermaniacs and hackers at bay for a while. Can tell the difference on sniper damage though - where sniped while running before would take me down - just a lot of damage & can then still move to cover usually - which should make taking the objectives (while snipers camp) better IMO.

EDIT: Was just thinking the other day how it would be nice to have a beacon player feature - like in the Source Mani Mod that we used in DODS for snipers that camped. Nothing pissed them off more (and made us laugh more) than for them to be be beeping & pulsing in blue lights (or whatever) so everyone could see them. :p
